Cathy Powell

Ms. Cathy Ainsworth Powell passed away on January 20th, 2021 in Gulfport, MS.

Cathy was a native and lifelong resident of Biloxi, MS and graduated from Biloxi High School in 1969. Cathy began her career as a Respiratory Therapist in the early 1970’s at Howard Memorial Hospital and later obtained a degree in Respiratory Therapy from MGCCC. Cathy worked at numerous hospitals on the Gulf Coast, but spent the majority of her career at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Biloxi, MS. For many years, Cathy enjoyed spending time on the water, fishing, boating or just enjoying the sun. She also made many trips to Alaska and loved fishing adventures with her brother, Tommy.

Ms. Powell is preceded in death by her parents, Lowell and Ruby Ainsworth; her brother, Roy Ainsworth and her daughter-in-law, Holly Powell.

Ms. Powell is survived by her son, Johnnie Powell (Niki); brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Joni Ainsworth; sister-in-law, Marlene Ainsworth; grandchild, Levi Alan Powell(Annabelle); great-grandchildren, Mary Margaret Mauffray and Hollis Mauffray; multiple nieces, nephews, family and life-long friends, especially, Dara Merkison, Nancy Killingsworth, Martha Wood and Vicki Kopszywa Caprari and a special thanks to Joe Mitchell
