Cathie B. Milner, 69, of Gulfport, died Wednesday, March 28 in Gulfport.
Cathie was a well known artist on the Gulf Coast, owner of Cathie Milner Studio, and co-founder of the shop Annie's Woodshed in the 1970's.
She was a graduate of Gulfport High School, held a B.A. in English Literature from L.S.U. N.O., and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from San Jose State University in California. While in Gulfport, she was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
While living in Jackson, she taught English at several community colleges and art through Belhaven University's Extension program.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Mary Catherine Bennett of Biloxi. She is survived by her children, Paul Bennett Milner(Melanie) of Jackson, and Bess Milner Olmsted(Chris) of Portland, OR.; grandchildren Bennett, Molly, and Margaret Milner and Olivia and Lilah Olmsted; sisters Mary Carolyn ""M.C."" Bennett Drake, Debbie Bennett, and Leslie Bennett Murphy.
Services will be held at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport at 11:00 am Saturday, March 31, 2012 with visitation from 9:30-11:00 am. There will be a private graveside service following.
