Catherine Crane Vick of Gulfport, 65, died on Sunday April 13, 2025

Cathy grew up in Gulfport and attended Gulfport East High School. She completed paralegal training in Atlanta and attended Georgia State University. She worked for several years as a paralegal in Atlanta and then in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

She began dating her husband, Cliff, after their 40th high school reunion, and they married 4 years later. They enjoyed their time together traveling and spending time with friends and family.

After having lived in Atlanta for several years, Cathy moved to Palm Beach Gardens, a place that brought her much joy. When she and Cliff married, they began living in both Palm Beach Gardens and Gulfport, where she loved reconnecting with her family and lifelong friends.

Cathy deeply loved her husband, her family, her friends, and her pets. She was supportive, encouraging, and always positive. Cathy was full of fun and loved life. Her absence will be felt by all who knew her.

Cathy is survived by her husband, Mr. Walter Clifton Vick, Jr.; her mother, Mrs. Edmund H. (Gwendolyn) Crane, of Gulfport; a brother, Dr. Edmund H. "Ned" Crane, III, and his wife, Dr. Virginia Crane, of Des Moines, Iowa; a sister, Dr. Gwendolyn Crane, and her husband, Dr. Eric Torp, of Biloxi; a brother, Mr. David Crane, of Gulfport; a brother, Mr. Kevin Crane, of Gulfport; a sister, Mrs. Robert Shaw (Ruth Crane) Matthews, and her husband, Mr. Robert Shaw Matthews, Jr., of Gulfport. She is also survived by eight nieces and one nephew: Mrs. Andrew (Judith Crane) Downs, Dr. Adele Crane, Miss Susan Crane, Miss Jeanne Torp, Miss Trilby Matthews, Miss Annabella Matthews, Miss Anastasia Torp, Miss Sarah Matthews, and Mr. Harry Crane.

She is predeceased by her father, Dr. Edmund H. Crane, Jr.; and her brother, Mr. Martin Crane.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Gulfport at 12:00 pm, where visitation will take place between 10:30 am and 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Pass Christian.

The family prefers donations to the American Migraine Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
