Catherine "Cathy" Rudder

Catherine ""Cathy"" Rudder, age 52, of Long Beach, passed away on July 26, 2011 in Gulfport.
Cathy was born on January 7, 1959 in Palatka, FL. She graduated from Monticello High School in 1977 and then earned a degree as a Medical Lab Technician from Copiah-Lincoln Junior College in Wesson, MS in 1983.
Cathy married Greg Rudder in Waynesboro, MS on September 16, 1984. She worked for Dr. Kitchings as a Medical Lab Technician for many years.
Her love was her family and she especially enjoyed being a mother of three children and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a very passionate reader and had a big heart when it came to animals. She touched so many people and will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond E. Polk, Sr. and her sister, Julia Marie Polk.
She leaves behind her husband, Greg Rudder of Long Beach; her children, Chrissie (Jimmy) Ripa, Keith (Tabitha) Rudder, and Andrew Rudder; her mother Judy Polk of Gulfport; her brother, Ray Polk of Georgia; and her grandchildren, Amanda, Mackenize, and Madisyn Rudder, and Christian Ripa.
A memorial gathering will be held Friday, July 29, 2011 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Humane Society of South Mississippi - 2615 Hwy. 49, Gulfport, MS 39501.
