Carolyn Towne

Carolyn Towne, 78, passed away on February 17, 2022, at St. Vincent Blount Medical Center, Oneonta, Alabama. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 12290 Depew Road, Gulfport MS, with visitation from 12:00 p.m. until the time of Mass. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Gulfport. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church St. Vincent de Paul Fund, 12290 Depew Road, Gulfport MS 39503.

Carolyn was born on October 2, 1943 in Flushing, NY, to Leonard and Gennie Johnson. She married the love of her life, George Towne, in February 1960, and moved to Gulfport, where he was stationed at nearby Keesler Air Force Base. When his work took him to Meridian MS and Hickory NC, the family moved with him, but Gulfport was always home.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George, and her son Michael.

Carolyn is survived by her son George (Sheree) Towne of Gadsden, AL; and grandchildren Trent and Amelia Towne of Placerville, CA.
