Carolyn Ann Halcomb Middleton, of Biloxi, MS., passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2022, after a courageous fight with cancer.

She was born on July 5, 1944, to Mr. and Mrs. John Brooks Halcomb in Ferriday, LA. She graduated from Ferriday High School.

In 1960, Carolyn, a gifted dancer, met the love of her life, Thomas A. Middleton, where each were performing in the Natchez Pilgrimage. They were married shortly after and had 5 children.

In 1968, the Middleton’s settled in Biloxi, MS where Carolyn became a fixture at Edgewater Mall. She bought and managed several stores throughout the years: KarmelKorn, Edgewater Liquor Store, The Gulf Coast Carousel and Train, The Treat Center, Dairy Queen, Orange Julius, and My Oh My. Carolyn really could do anything she put her mind to. Whether it was driving a tractor, riding a horse, cooking a gourmet meal for a houseful, digging, and designing a lush garden in her backyard, loving and spending time with her grandchildren and close friends, her energy was boundless.

Carolyn leaves behind her beloved husband of 60 years, Thomas Middleton; her children, Lacy Vickers, Candy O’neal, John Middleton, Mary Marchioni Petersen, and Duke Middleton; she blessed with 15 grandchildren, Britton Lace Vickers, Maverick O’Neal, Callahan O’Neal, Bear O’Neal, London O’Neal, Jacob Middleton, Tyler Middleton, Jayden Middleton, Makayla Marchioni, Logan Petersen Malea Marchioni, Tristan Marchioni, Landen Petersen, Dylan Middleton, and Marli Middleton.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and John Brooks Halcomb; her brother, Roy S. Halcomb; her son-in-law, Jerry Marchioni; and her granddaughter, Lauren Vickers.

Her family will be having a private celebration.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Hospice of Gulfport, MS.

Riemann Family Funeral Home, Gulfport, is serving the family.
