Carolyn Fikes

Carolyn Ann Bounds Fikes, age 76 of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on August 28, 2022 in Ocean Springs Hospital.

She was born the daughter of Joe Carlson and Annie Lyons Bounds in Gulfport, MS on September 17, 1946.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her grandparents, Reuben Edgar and Celestine Bosarge Lyons; her parents; a daughter, Jill Christine Barret; and her husband George Fikes.

She is survived by her daughter, Laurie Corson (Bobbie); her granddaughters, Jessica and Megan; her great-grandchildren; her sister Jeanette Thomas; nieces, nephews, numerous cousins including Nettye Carter, Rebecca Burns and good friend, Steve Castleberry.

She was a Class of 1964 graduate of Gulfport High School and was employed by the Navy in civil service at Ingal’s Shipbuilding in Pascagoula until her retirement.

Per her request, there will be no services at this time.  A burial will be planned for a later date.

The Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd., in West Jackson County served the family.
