Revelations 21:4

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Carolyn Roberta Foster Cadenhead, 90, peacefully passed away on Valentine’s Day (February 14, 2025) to join her husband. She was surrounded by her family on a day filled with love and red roses, two of her favorite things. She was born in El Dorado, Arkansas on July 27, 1934, to her parents Otis and Cleo Foster. They later moved to Brookhaven, Mississippi where she graduated in 1952 from Brookhaven High School. After completing her education at the University of Southern Mississippi, she moved to Gulfport in 1956 and was employed by Hancock Whitney Corporation where she retired as a Business Development Officer.

Carolyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed vacationing with them and with her friends. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church of Gulfport who held her in their thoughts and prayers. She loved serving her church and community and sharing that joy with her church friends.

Carolyn had a radiant smile that lit up every room she entered. She cared so deeply for the people around her and made an impact on many lives. She will live on in our hearts forever.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles R Cadenhead; her parents, Otis and Cleo Foster; and her sister Barbara Edmondson.

She is survived by her children Thomas Daniel Dabbs (Teresa), Donna E Brown (Andy); her grandchildren Charles J Dabbs (Leslie) Daniel Dabbs, Ashley Coker, Haleigh Staff, Courtney E Johnson (Kyle); her great grand children Riley, Elijah, Janzen, Selah and Charles Dabbs, Fischer and Carolyn Johnson; her sister Linda Gay Miles and her family. She is also survived by the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of Charles R Cadenhead.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 21, 2025, at the Westminster Presbyterian Church of Gulfport.

A celebration of Carolyn’s life will follow the visitation at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Rev. William H. Shurley officiating.

A private burial will be held on Monday at the Biloxi National Cemetery.

Heartfelt thanks to Dunbar Village in Bay St. Louis and to Kare-in-home Hospice for the care and love they gave to our mother.

Memorial donations can be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 5005 Lawson Ave., Gulfport, MS 39507.
