Carolyn Sue Andrews of D’Iberville, MS, joined the love of her life in eternal peace on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, in the comfort of her home. She was 67 years old.
Born in Biloxi, MS, September 7, 1956, Carolyn was the youngest of eight children to Jeff and Elva (Skipper) Wilson. Carolyn filled many roles in her younger years, serving as a provider and nurturer for her family; waitress and hostess at the White Pillars Restaurant; Retail Associate at Howard’s, Family Dollar, and other local stores; and eventually loving wife and mother to a little family all her own. As her child grew, Carolyn returned to work in 1997 as a HOST Mentor at Howard II Elementary and later an Assistant Teacher and P.E. Coach at North Bay Elementary, where she selflessly dedicated 22 years to educating and developing the hearts and minds of our future generations.
Carolyn gave herself fully to loving and caring for others, and never asked for anything in return. She treated every child she worked with as if they were her own, and was the fiercest protector, cheerleader, and lover of her family and friends. If she wasn’t tending her yard and garden or telling you that you should eat “just a little bit,” you could usually find her lending a helping hand wherever she could and laughing at the week’s events with her daughter, family, and best friend, always with a hot cup of coffee or ice-cold Dr. Pepper in hand.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 35 earthly and heavenly years, Kalman “Andy” Andrews; parents Jeff and Elva (Skipper) Wilson; sister Jennie (Wilson) Hire; brothers Alvin “Sonny” Wilson, Lionel Wilson, Charles “Goobie” Wilson, Steve Wilson, and Seburn Wilson; nephews Charles “Chuckie” Wilson, Ryan Wilson, and Harley Wilson; and niece Isabel Graham.
She is survived by her adoring daughter Kayla Andrews; brother Curtis “Boy” Wilson; lifelong friend and chosen-sister Shirley (Wall) Rhoades and her life partner Herbert “Dusty” Rhoades; as well as her many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews that brought so much love and joy into her life.
