Carol "Elaine" Nelson, age 79 of Gulfport passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David "Two Dog" Nelson; and her parents, Joseph and Muriel Meharg Bennett.
She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Case Fitzgerald (Jay) and Kelly Case Taylor (Jacko); son, Jonathan Case (Maribeth Bourlet); grandchildren, Dustin Mitchell, Sydney Fitzgerald, David Fitzgerald, Angelle Mitchell, Justin Case, Amber Case, Ayiana Case, Jodi Taylor, Kelsey Taylor and Laci Grace Taylor.
Born on August 11, 1938 in Providence, RI, she moved to the Gulf Coast 48 years ago, living in Long Beach then Gulfport. She worked at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport for over 30 years until her retirement and also volunteered at Memorial Hospital and for the United States Organization (USO).
A visitation will be held on Monday, July 9, 2018, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Rd, Long Beach. An online obituary may be viewed and condolences and photos shared at www.riemannfamily.com
