Carol Faye Jackson (nee Courrege), a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2025, at her home in Kiln, MS. Born on December 22, 1937, in New Orleans, LA, Carol's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, faith, and devotion to her family and community.
A committed member of First Baptist Church in Bay St. Louis, Carol worked as a financial secretary, where her meticulous nature and friendly demeanor left a lasting impact on those who knew her. Her faith guided her in every aspect of her life, and she took great pride in her service to the church, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
Carol's family was her greatest joy and her proudest accomplishment. She cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her loving children: Yvonne (Bryon) Griffith, Glenn (Helen) Jackson, and Paula (Dave) Boos. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Wes (Ashley) Griffith, Brad (Christina) Griffith, Misty (Scott) Detiveaux, Laura (Nathan) Overton, Kandace (Hunter) Landgrave, and Chad (Brittany) Boos. With deep affection, she embraced each of her great-grandchildren: Gabe Griffith, Micah Griffith, Ashton Griffith, Alivia Griffith, Edelle Griffith, Tristan Griffith, Jake Landgrave, Lauren Landgrave, Ali Landgrave, Kadyn Detiveaux, Adelais Detiveaux, Presley Overton, Ellie Overton, Wyatt Boos, and Hudson Boos, who brought her immense joy and laughter. She is also survived by her sister, Gayle (Joe) Schengrund, and brother, Bert (Christine) Courrege, who were sources of comfort and companionship throughout her life. As well as several nieces and nephews.
Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years, Charles Jackson, whose memory she cherished deeply. She was also welcomed in eternal peace by her parents, Gordon and Lucy Courrege, and her siblings: Archie (Grace Eva) Courrege and Betty (Ott) Brockman.
As we gather to remember Carol Faye Jackson, let us celebrate her profound love for her family, her unwavering faith, and her kind spirit that touched so many lives. Her memory will continue to inspire us to cherish our loved ones and spread kindness in our communities, just as she did throughout her remarkable life.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, beginning at 9:00 AM at First Baptist Church, Bay St. Louis with the funeral service following at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at St. Matthew Catholic Church Cemetery in Kiln, MS.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in her name to her favorite charity Samaritan's Purse.
