Carol Bernice (Crouch) Carpenter, 74, of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away on August 21, 2020 surrounded by her family.
Carol was born in Birmingham, AL to Vesta (Bernice) Lazenby Crouch and Edward James Crouch on February 17, 1946. She received her degree in education from Louisiana Baptist University. For 30 years she enjoyed teaching in two local private schools.
On June 15, 1969, she married James Herbert Carpenter of West Virginia and had two daughters.
Carol had a passion for singing and loved the opportunity to praise her Lord and Savior through her local church. She had a wonderful artistic ability that she shared with her many friends and family. She was known for her quick wit, loving personality and was adored by all.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, James H. Carpenter; her parents, Edward and Vesta (Lazenby) Crouch; and sister, Shirley (Crouch) Kirkland.
She is survived by her daughters, Christin Rathman and Cathy (Mickey) Hare; her grandchildren, Monica (Jordan) DeVelle, Andrew (Bethany) Hare, and Samuel Rathman; her siblings, Jimmy (Maria) Crouch and Ronnie (Peggy) Crouch; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held Friday, August 28, 2020, at Bible Baptist Church, 12200 Dedeaux Road, Gulfport at 1:00 o’clock p.m. RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Gulfport is serving the family.
