Carol Ann Waldrop Campbell

Carol Ann Waldrop Campbell, a beloved matriarch and cherished member of the Gulfport community, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 20, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on April 5, 1948, in Biloxi, Mississippi, Carol was a lifelong resident of Gulfport, where she cultivated deep connections and a profound love for her family and community.

A proud graduate of Gulfport High School, Carol dedicated a significant portion of her life to her career as a housekeeper for various casinos along the coast, culminating in her retirement at Boomtown Casino. Her diligent work ethic and caring nature endeared her to many, and her contributions to the hospitality industry will be remembered fondly by those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Carol found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly her passion for gardening. She had a special affinity for rose bushes, tending to her garden with love and care. This love for nature echoed her nurturing spirit, which radiated throughout her relationships and her role as a mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her sons, Jason A. Campbell and Brian K. Campbell (Jennifer), who carry forward her legacy of love and kindness. Carol's cherished role as a grandmother was exemplified through the lives of her five adoring grandchildren: Jaydon, Skyler, Jordan, Brandon, and Haley Campbell. They were the light of her life, and her devotion to them was unwavering.

Carol is also survived by her brother, Leroy J. Waldrop (Katie), who shared many memories filled with love and laughter during their time together.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Eric Earl Campbell; her parents, James Waldrop and Elizabeth Stupack; and her brothers, Douglas Waldrop and Timothy Waldrop. Their memories will be forever etched in the hearts of all who loved Carol.

As we remember Carol Ann Campbell, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by resilience, love, and dedication. Her spirit will continue to inspire those she left behind, a testament to a life filled with purpose and affection. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who take solace in the cherished memories they created together.

A Graveside Service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Biloxi National Cemetery.  For those wishing to attend, a Funeral Procession will depart at 11:45 a.m. from Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, going to Biloxi National Cemetery.
