Carol Smith Berry, age 69, of Gulfport died Wednesday, January 9, 2008 in Gulfport.
Mrs. Berry was born in Streator, Illinois and was employed at Thatcher Glass Company in Streater for many years. She later resided in Gulfport for 30 years where she owned the Tiffin Room Lounge; also known as The Miracle on 34th Street. Mrs. Berry was of the Methodist faith.
Mrs. Berry was preceded in death by her parents, Harl Satterfield and Gladys Webster Satterfield; a son, Joseph Brown; her sister, Jo Ann Herron; and her first husband, Bob Brown.
She is survived by her husband, Howard Berry, a resident of the Gulf Coast since 1994; her children, Debra (James) Maughan of Carthage, TX, Bob (Krista) Brown of Steator, IL; her siblings, Neil Satterfield of Corpus Christi, TX, Brian Satterfield of Florida, John Hill of Steator, IL and Danny Hill of Seattle, WA;
eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
The family prefers memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 417 Security Square, Gulfport, MS 39507.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 12, 2008 from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 P.M. Burial will be at a later date at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Streator, IL.
