Carmen P. Lindsay, 92 of Gulfport, died on Friday, March 31, 2006 in Hattiesburg. Mrs. Lindsay served in the US Coast Guard during WWII and was a resident of the MS Gulf Coast since 1948. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Gulfport and was owner/operator of the Powder Puff Beauty Shop in downtown Gulfport for over 30 years.
Mrs. Lindsay is preceded in death by her husband, Arvid G. Lindsay; her brothers, Walt, Wendall, John & James Patrick and her sisters, Ethel Russell, Geneva Lindsay and Annabelle Murphy. She is survived by her children, David (Maree) Lindsay of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Elizabeth (Earl) Wilson of Brooklyn, MS; ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 04, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at Gulf Coast Funeral Homes, Inc., Three Rivers Road Chapel in Gulfport, friends may visit two hours prior to the service. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Lindsay's grandchildren, Robert, Anthony, Bill, Eddie Anderson, Sonny Wilson and Lester Dye. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Murphy and Tim Murphy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church, 2301 15th Street, Gulfport, MS 39501.
