Carl "Pee Wee" Rhodes

Carl Evans "Pee Wee" Rhodes, Jr., age 68 of Gulfport, passed away on Friday, March 19, 2021, in Ocean Springs.
He was a native of Houma, LA and earned an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice. Pee Wee was employed by Long Beach Police Department as a patrolman and detective and was later employed by Harrison County Sheriff Department as a Captain of Criminal Investigations. After retirement, he worked as security at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport and Gulfport Memorial Behavioral Health.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Evans Rhodes, Sr. and Della Leonard Rhodes.
PeeWee is survived by his wife of 39 years, Monica Ladner Rhodes; his children, Jason Rhodes of Long Beach, MS and Lauren Rhodes Crandall (Alex) of Shreveport, LA; his sister, Debra Rhodes Mooney (Lee) of Perkinston, MS; his brother, Arthur Rhodes (Pauline) of Bond, MS; his grandchild, Kasyn Crandall of Shreveport, LA; many nieces and nephews; his favorite sister-in-law that he had a special place in his heart for, Kristi Ladner Dearman (Robin) of Perkinston, MS; and his special niece, Della of Perkinston, MS.
He loved riding his motorcycle with the Blue Knights and with his dearest friends, Frank Lewis and Alfred Reyer. They traveled many places together. He also enjoyed spending time with Jason, Lauren, and Kasyn.
PeeWee's life revolved around family and friends. He was a good friend to so many. His career was all about brotherhood and friendship. The biggest light of his life was his grandson, Kasyn. He was so proud and honored to be a Grandpa.
Law enforcement was his life's purpose, in which he pursued 30+ years, and was blessed in positively impacting many peoples' lives throughout his career.
He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
A visitation will be on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, from 3 - 4 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport. A memorial service will be at 4 Pm in the funeral home chapel.
