Master Chief Petty Officer Carlos F. """"Carl"""" Kucera, USN (Ret.), 91, of Biloxi, died January 26, 2009 in Biloxi.
Carl was born in New Orleans, retiring after 30 years of distinguished Naval service. Within his career he served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.
After retiring in 1972, he and his wife settled in Biloxi. He was actively dedicated to the American Legion, being a life member (PUFL), and of Joe Graham Post 119. He was also an active member of the """"40/8"""" (Voiture 251).
Carl is preceded in death by his father, Frank Kucera; mother, Lillian Kucera Moore; brothers, Frank Kucera and Warren Kucera; and infant daughter, Virginia Kucera.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Moto Koguichi Kucera; son, CMSgt. Charles L. Kucera (Sue) of New Orleans; daughter, Gertrude Jameson (Jim) of Dallas; five grandchildren: Dawn, Scott, and Chad Jameson of Dallas, and Brian and Phillip Kucera of New Orleans; three great-grandchildren: Justin Jameson, Emily Jameson, and Andrew Jameson, all of Dallas. Also, nieces and nephews in Japan and the United States.
Friends are invited to visit from 12 noon until the funeral service at 1:45 p.m. on Monday, February 2 2009 at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Rd, Biloxi. Burial with full military honors will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
