Carlean Vest May

Carlean Vest May, age 74 of Gulfport, MS, formerly Greenwood, MS, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2024.

Carlean is preceded in death by her husband Felix May; and her parents, Walter and Venita Vest.

She is survived by her children, Bryan May (Theola), Shawn May (Maria), Kenneth May (Elisha), and William May (Clint); siblings, Barbara Johnson (David), and Dane Vest (Linda); grandchildren, Drew May, Justin Stokes, Bryan May Jr., Trever May, Tyler May, McKayla May, Lathan May, Michael Craft, Jacob Bennett, and Megan Bennet; great grandchildren, Vincent Stokes and Corbit May; and 10 nieces and nephews.

Carlean Vest May was born in Anna, IL on December 14, 1949, to Walter and Venita Vest. She attended Greenwood High School, before marrying her husband of 39 years, Felix May. Carlean attended Calvary Baptist Church of Greenwood and enjoyed volunteering at the local food bank and VFW. She relocated to the Gulf Coast in 2021 where she loved attending the Lyman Senior Century and playing Bingo.

Visitation will be 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm, Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, Gulfport. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm. Interment will be at Biloxi National Cemetery after the service.
