Carl K. Reed, age 79, resident of Gulfport passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2010 in Gulfport.
He was born in Guntersville, AL on February 15, 1931 where he grew up until joining the Air Force and moving to the MS Gulf Coast in 1952. He married Montez Cornelius on February 23, 1952.
He retired after 22 years of service as a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force. He served his country in Germany, Japan, and Taiwan. He also retired from Civil Service as an Instructor in Electronics.
He enjoyed working on automobiles, reading, and spending time with family and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his grandson, Zack Reed.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Montez Reed; his two sons, Lee and Randy Reed; his granddaughter, 1Lt. Ember Reed; and his grandson, Josh Reed.
A visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday, July 11, 2010 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport.
The funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, July 12, 2010 at 1:30 pm.
Interment with Full Military Honors will be held at 2:30 pm at Biloxi National Cemetery.
