Carl McGill

Carl D. McGill, age 73 of Gulfport, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022.

He was a native of Long Beach and served as a Merchant Marine.  Carl was an entrepreneur who enjoyed working.

Carl was preceded in death by his father, Edward James McGill; his mother, Marion Pujol McGill; his brother, Jimmy McGill; and his sister, Dorothy Morris.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Emma Fe McGill; his children, Dustin Allen McGill, Kevin McGill, Vanessa Remel, and Varolyn Chapetta; his siblings, Leroy McGill, Bobby Pavolini (Mattie), Danny Pavolini (Ollie), Michael McGill, and Juanita Dubuisson; his grandchildren, D.J. Remel, Caitlin Remel, Daniel Chapetta, III, and Dow Chapetta; his great grandchildren, Finnley McGill and Daniel Chapetta, IV; and other special relatives, Tammy McGill, Caden Martin, Rylan Bunch, Brandon Morris, Stacy Morris, Michael McGill, Daniel Remel, Jamie Morris, Gene East, and Ashley McGill.

Carl was a pioneer in the water well drilling industry and created methods in that industry which is still used today.  He was the first one in the industry to invent machines used to manufacture his own well screens and manufactured well fittings.

He loved fishing, travelling with the Merchant Marines and inventing things.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, Long Beach.  The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel, followed by interment at Conn Cemetery, Long Beach.
