Carl Edward McBride

Carl Edward McBride, age 85, of Gulfport, MS, passed away peacefully at home on April 3, 2023. Carl was surrounded by his wife, Iris, and children, Edward and Terry, daughter-in-law Susan, brother Clarence, granddaughter Mallori and her fiancé Daniel.

Carl and Iris were married on April 17, 1957, and were blessed to spend almost 66 years together. Carl started working with the family truck lines at age 17 and he and Iris went on to successfully own and manage their own business in Gulfport for more than 25 years. He retired at age 70 in 2007. He and Iris enjoyed traveling to California and other places spending time with family and friends. Carl loved his pets, Miss Diamond and Lola, whom he took extra special care of. He was a devoted member of the Klein Road Church of God for more than 30 years.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Alberta McBride; step-mother, Lura McBride; father and mother In-law, Elvin and Aileen Harris; brother, Bob McBride; sisters-in-law, Millie McBride and Brenda McBride; and brother-in-law, Ira “Buddy” Mitchell.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Iris McBride; sons Edward (Tad Green) McBride, Terry (Susan) McBride; grandchildren Mallori (Daniel Nolen) McBride, Caleb (Kelci) McBride, Colby (Jade) Green and Tyler (Sheila Gill) Green and six great-grandchildren; brothers Bill (Janis) McBride, Phillip (Pat) McBride, Clarence (Jane) McBride, Lawrence (Eve) McBride; step-sister Jane McBride; step-brother Tom (Ruby) McBride; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Mitchell and many cousins, nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

Friends are invited to join the McBride family for visitation and services on Friday, April 7, 2023, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., with the Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 p.m.  Carl will be laid to rest in a private family service on Monday, April 10, 2023, at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport.
