Carl Elton Bass

December 10, 1927 — March 12, 2012

Carl E. Bass, age 84, of Long Beach, Ms, was surrounded by family when he was called home to be with our Lord on March 12, 2012. Mr. Bass was born December 10, 1927 in Long Beach, MS to Mr. Lloyd Bass and Mrs. Artie B. Bass of Long Beach.
He worked at J.C. Clower Furniture Company for twenty years, Sherwin Williams Paint Store for ten years and retired from Gleem Paint Center after ten years of service. He was a past member of the Masonic Lodge Southern Star #500. He was a long time member of Antioch Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent, Treasurer and Deacon. He was a great Christian leader for his family setting an example for all to follow. Not only did he love woodworking in his shop but he loved gathering with his family on Sunday afternoons. He was a dedicated husband, marrying his wife on December 29, 1947. He spent 64 loving years with his wife and their love for each other did not go unnoticed. Carl leaves behind the love of his life Gay, and three children, Artie B. Ross, Carlyn B. Markos (Wayne), George L. Bass (Sherry) all of Long Beach. He is survived by his two brothers, B.B. Bass (Nancy) of Pass Christian and Troy Bass (Carol) of Ocean Springs. He also leaves behind six grandchildren Renae Daniels (Tim) of Long Beach, Bryan Ross (Bridget) of Maryville, TN; Joshua Ross (Amber) of Gulfport, Rodney Markos of Birmingham, AL; Adam Markos and Jared Bass both of Long Beach. Great Grandchildren include Vaiden Ross of Gulfport, Alivia and Easton Daniels of Long Beach and Christian Bass of Long Beach. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Lloyd Bass and Mrs. Artie B. Bass of Long Beach, his sister Nona Lee Watts of Long Beach and his brother Reginald L. Bass of Long Beach. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 15, 2012 from 5 to 8 p.m. and funeral services will be held on Friday March 16, 2012 at 10 a.m., At RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Long Beach, MS. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or Antioch Baptist Church in Long Beach.
