Captain Floyd G. Goodin, USAF, Ret., age 83 of Gulfport, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2019.
He was a native of Louisiana and was a college graduate with a major history and a minor in German.
Floyd retired from United States Air Force with many awards and commendations. He received an Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Navy Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Medal, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, and Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeptha Ephraham and Lillie Russel Goodin; his brothers, Buster Goodin, Leon Goodin, and Charles Goodin; his sisters, Mary Goodin, Juanita Goodin Aswell, Vera Gloria Goodin Gill, Elizabeth Goodin Jackson, and Li llie Goodin.
Floyd is survived by his wife of 25 years, Elsa C. Goodin; his children, Michael Kevin Goodin, Floyd Glenn Goodin (Christine), Roland Goodin (Robin), Jonathan Goodin, Matthew Goodin (Aspen), and Jennifer Rivera; his grandchildren, Macenzie Louise Goodin, Gabriel James Goodin, Mei Lee Goodin, Bruce Glenn Goodin, Carmen Lauren Goodin, Kalina Naome Goodin, Avah Gretchen Goodin, Gabriella Elizabeth Goodin, Jaxon Rey Goodin, and Brock Aaron Floyd Goodin; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Memorial Hospital at Gulfport, along with friends and family.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, on Sunday, June 23, 2019, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, MS. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, June 24, 2019, at Extended Hands Assembly of God Church, 16427 Shaw Road, Gulfport, with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
