Capt. John Lee Hutto, U.S. Army, Ret, age 80, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018.
He was born in Bolinger, AL, April 20, 1938. He served his country in the U.S. Army for 23 years and was a field artillery officer. Capt. Hutto was awarded 3 bronze star medals, one with V Device for valor, Vietnam Service Medal w/5 Bronze Star Service Stars, Combat Infantry Badge, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, and more.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William I. Hutto and Eula Mae Brannon; his brother, William I. Hutto, Jr.; and 2 sisters, Ruth Welborne and Helen Sproul.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Diane D. Hutto; a son, Terrance L. Hutto (Denise); a daughter, Ellen Beth Stollar (Michael); 5 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, 5 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hutto enjoyed fishing, hunting, travelling in his motor home, and spending time with his family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, or Canon Hospice.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, August 31, 2018, from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Rd., Biloxi. A funeral service will be at 12:30 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.
