Mr. Calvin E. ""Dean"" Stewart, age 76, of Long Beach, passed away on July 6, 2011.
Mr. Stewart was born in Tula, MS on November 18, 1934, to William Winfred and Myrtle Sullivan Stewart. He moved to the Coast in 1956 and worked at A & P Grocery Store in Gulfport for 36 years as a meat cutter. After retiring from the grocery store, he worked for the Senior Citizen Center in Long Beach driving the bus. He loved spending time outdoors and visiting with family friends. He had a great sense of humor and always had a good joke.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Illa Faye Bishop.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Essie Stewart of Long Beach; children, Wanda Mauffray (Myrlin) of Gulfport and Dena Borzik (Matthew) of Long Beach; siblings, Brenda Miller (Billy) of New Albany, MS, Barbara Winters (Billy) of Greenville, MS, Jimmy Stewart (Judy) of Gulfport, Winfred Stewart, Jr. of Ft. Meyers, FL, and Kenny Stewart of Mize, MS; grandchildren, Jason, Jonathan, Jeremy, Elizabeth, Josh and McKenzie; great grandchildren, Wyatt, Reagan, Ryleigh; sisters-in-law, Karleen Lee (Harlie) and Patsy Verdin (Black); special niece, Barb Palkowski, and a host of loving family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2011, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Commission Road, Long Beach, from 1-3 p.m.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel at 3 p.m.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery at Rotten Bayou.
