Calvin Dollar

Calvin Edwin Dollar, Sr., passed away on August 27, 2021 in Vancleave, MS.
Calvin was born Jan 24, 1928 in Climax, GA, Decatur County, to Wesley George Dollar, and Zelma B. Bishop Dollar. He was of the Baptist faith. Calvin was the youngest of thirteen children. He was a Veteran of two wars, having served in WWII and in the Korean War. He coached Little League baseball during the years his children were participating in sports in Ocean Springs, MS, for many years and was proud to have coached an All-Star team. He retired from civil service, Radio Airborne Comm, Keesler Air Force Base. Later he worked as a Contractor for OMNI Engineering supporting the Navy at Ingalls Shipbuilding.
Calvin is preceded in death by both parents; his loving wife of 69 years, Nancy C. Dollar; three brothers; eight sisters; and one great-granddaughter, Katelyn.
Survivors include his four sons C. Edwin, Jr. (Diane) Dollar of Biloxi, MS, Gery (Susan) Dollar, David (Cindy) Dollar of Vancleave, MS, Alan (Betty) Dollar of Ocean Springs, MS; his sister Nadie Fitzgerald of AL; eight beautiful grand-children, Andrea (Patrick) Mitchell, Stacey Johnson, Natalie (Jesse) Lancaster, Jennifer (Johnny) Wilcox, Jeremy (Wendy) Lomax, Lisa (David) Ferguson, Kyle (Christy) Dollar, Elijah Dollar; 11 great-grand-children; and one great-great grand-daughter, Adalyn.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 1:30 PM at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd. West Jackson County with visitation starting at 12:30 PM. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery.
