Burton Lasater

January 10, 1930 — August 16, 2019

Burton Edgar Lasater, age 89 and a resident of Diamondhead Mississippi, died peacefully in his sleep August 15, 2019. He was born January 10, 1930, in Fort Worth Texas. He had been suffering from Parkinson's  Disease.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marjorie Lasater; and his parents, Jesse Lasater and Hazel Lasater, of Fort Worth, Texas.
He is survived by his four children and their spouses, Deborah Lasater (Don Fisher), Miriam Thompson (James Thompson), Kurt Mikesell (Kathryn Pickerell), and Kevin Mikesell; 15 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Burt was a member of Faith Assembly of God. He was a man of God who loved his church and his country. He was an infamous story teller and jokester, and he never met a stranger. He liked playing with gadgets, computers, and remote control helicopters. He also loved to cook and he made the best fried chicken!
In his younger years he enjoyed camping with his family and traveling the world. Burt enlisted in the Army Air Corps, which later became the U.S. Air Force when he was 16 years old. He served in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War and retired with full military honors as a Senior Master Sergeant. He was stationed all over the world, including Germany, Korea, Alaska, Tunisia, and England, as well as several Air Force bases around the United States. One of his proudest moments that he bragged about was that he got to fly over the North Pole on his 18 th birthday.
Pallbearers will be Taylor Pickerell, James Thompson, Joshua Thompson, Adam Smith, Jimmy White, Keith Mikesell, Maxwell Ty Anderson, and Lane Cheney.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Faith Assembly of God, Kiln, Mississippi.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, August 23, 2019, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln Delisle Rd., Pass Christian, with a visitation from 9:00 until the service.  Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
