Burt Griffin

Burt E. Griffin, age 85, passed away March 2, 2022.

He was preceded in death by his father Preston Griffin; his mother, Sara Griffin; his sister, Elsie McPherson; his brother, Sonny Forbes.

Burt is survived by one niece and numerous cousins.

He was a native of Jackson, MS and a current resident of Wiggins, MS. Burt graduated from Forrest County Agriculture High School. He entered the U.S. Airforce right out of high school. After 11 years in the U.S. Airforce, he joined the U.S. Army in order to fly. He became a helicopter pilot while in the U.S. Army. Burt retired after 11 years of service in the U.S. Army and became the business owner of Burt’s Equipment in Wiggins.

If he had been able to say any last words, those words would most likely have been, “Don’t crash and burn.”

The graveside service will be on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Biloxi National Cemetery at 10:00 am.
