Burnell J. Ladner, age 62, of Pass Christian, passed away on May 10, 2009 in Gulfport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Randolph and Winnie Ladner; five brothers, Rudolph Ladner, Rudy Ladner, Laverne Ladner, Pete Ladner, and Harry Ladner; and two sisters, Alverta Cuevas and Ruby Brady.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Marcia L. Ladner, of Pass Christian; his children, Melodie Browder (Chris) of Biloxi, Randy Ladner, and Brent Ladner, both of Pass Christian; two grandchildren, Megan Browder and Matt Browder, both of Biloxi; a sister, Mary Frances Ladner; a brother, Buford Ladner, both of Pass Christian; and many nieces and nephews.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dedeaux, Pass Christian. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam War where he earned the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He was a lifelong member of the DAV; a fomer auxiliary deputy sheriff for Harrison County for several years; and founder and operator of Regal Auction since 1991.
The visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 from 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln Delisle Rd, Pass Christian.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dedeaux. Burial with military honors will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
