Bura “B.B” Breland passed away September 19, 2020 at the age of 94.
He was born in West Texas and lived there until he joined the Navy during World War II. After the war B.B moved to Mississippi where he met and married Frankie Breland. He started his career in the oil field with Humble Oil/Exxon. B.B. attended MGCCC at Perk and finished college at USM. B.B later retired from Exxon but continued his career with Gulf Fleet Marine & Tidewater Marine. B.B. lived and worked in Mississippi, Texas, and Louisiana as well as abroad, and retired in Wiggins, MS. For the past 8 ½ years B.B. has lived at the “Armed Forces Retirement Home” in Gulfport, MS where he was known by many as “The Candy Man”. The family wants to express their sincere appreciation to the entire AFRH staff.
B.B is survived by his wife, Frankie Breland; his children, Vicki and Eddie Silva, and Tina and Chris Crighton; brothers D.C. Breland and Bobby Breland; and sister Marguerite Simon.
A private service will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery.
