Bruce “Doc” Shook, age 70, of Biloxi, MS, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021, at his home.
Bruce “Doc” was born in East St. Louis, IL, to the late Eugene Shook and Audrey Wilson Shook. At an early age, he learned that he was very creative and able to make beautiful objects with his hands; he excelled in both drawing and building. He then began to realize how much he loved working with metal and became an excellent welder. He often made metal crafts that his family, friends, and co-workers treasured. In his later years he lost an eye due to a workplace accident, however, that did not stop him from doing what he loved, working with metal.
Bruce was proceeded in death by his father, Eugene Shook; mother, Audrey Shook; wife, Shelia Cocthren; daughter, Melissia Ann Shook; son Jason Richard Shook (Mary); sisters, Carol Cordivant and Debra Kathleen Shook; brothers, Thomas Shook, John Shook Sr, Richard Shook, and Larry Shook.
Bruce is survived by his sister Maria Theresa Shook Walters; his nieces, Sheryl Ann Vanderveer and Crystal Jennifer Walters and his great-niece Dana Cheyenne Vanderveer
Interment will be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 2,2021 at Mendenhall City Cemetery in Mendenhall, MS.
RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi is assisting the family with arrangements.
