Bruce Warren Roberts

Bruce Warren Roberts, a resident of Fairhope, AL passed away on August 22, 2010 in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Bruce was born in Gadsden, AL on November 06, 1946 and was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow T. Roberts, Sr and Beatrice Thrasher Roberts.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Duggan Roberts, step-daughter, Melissa (Chris) Wiesepape of Montgomery, TX, grandchildren, Tyler and Taylor Denner, and Madison and Christian Wiesepape, his brother, Woodrow (Linda) Roberts, Jr of Baton Rouge, LA, his sister, Susan (Tracy) Childers of Marion, NC, nieces, Kelly (Scott) Dorris, Becky (David) Johnson, Meg (John) May, Autumn (Skip) Stanley, and Kendall (Joseph) Wilson, nephews, Trey (Kelly) Roberts and Orion Bradburn and 4 great nieces and 5 great nephews. Also he leaves behind his aunts, Olive Roberts of Daytona Beach and Kathleen Stedham and Adeline Thrasher of Gadsden and Odell Hopper and numerous cousins.
Bruce Warren attended school in Gadsden and graduated from Cherokee County High School in Centre, Alabama. He then attended Auburn University before going into the U.S. Army. Bruce Warren served with honor in the 1st Division of the 7th Calvary in Vietnam and was awarded a Silver Star, a Bronze Star, the Combat Infantry Badge and received two Purple Hearts for wounds received in service to his country. He graduated from Jacksonville State University after he returned from service.
Bruce Warren and Pat married in 1992 and moved to Pell City, AL in 1995. He worked in Birmingham, AL as a machinist for Southern Research Institute leaving there in 1997. He was an avid fan of aviation and learned to fly and built his own plane. When he wanted to move south, they chose Fairhope where he would be close to fishing and he rebuilt a boat outfitting it for the many fishing trips he hoped to take.
The family requests donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in honor of Larkin Dorris, or to the charity of your choice.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Holy Comforter, Gadsden, AL.
