Brian Ostavitz, Jr.

Brian Ostavitz, Jr., age 22, of Long Beach, MS, passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021.

Brian was born January 12, 1999 in Youngstown, Ohio and has been a resident of Long Beach, MS. He attended Harrison Central High School, and he worked as a Technician in Fiber Optics. Brian enjoyed his outdoors, fishing, kayaking and the water. But mainly, he enjoyed spending time with his son, Preston.

Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward J. Ostavitz and Edward J. Ostavitz, Jr.; and an uncle and his great-grandmother.

Survivors include his father, Brian Ostavitz, Sr.; his mother, Diane LaFavor (and fiance Kirk Sakely); his son, Preston Ostavitz; his grandmother, Jackie Ostavitz; his aunts and uncles, Sherri (Bill) Lowry, Charlene (Chad) Salanci and Edward J. (Maria Teresa) Ostavitz, III; and his siblings, Kristina Darnell, Harley Richardson, Jessica Richardson, Jessica Lynn Matyi and Hannah Renee LaBrance; his niece, Abigail Nicole Gorden; his grandparents, Frank B.Matyi and Elsie M. Bunyoff; his aunt and uncles, Deborah Waterbeck (and her late husband, Keith G. Waterbeck), and Andrea and Michael Hodge; and other numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Friends are invited to join the family for a Gathering of Family and Friends on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport.
