Brenda Joyce Davis

Brenda Joyce Davis passed away on January 17, 2025, at the age of 76. Born December 11, 1948, in Mobile, Alabama, she called Gulfport home since 1975. She was preceded in death by her son, Nathaniel Brennen Davis, her parents, Waldma and Zelmer Alston, and her sister, Earline Robinson.

Brenda met her love of 59 years, Ray Davis, in 1963. After graduating from Vigor High School in 1965, they married that year on December 20th. In 1975 they moved their family to Gulfport to take on the paint business, Gleem Paint Center. They worked side by side for 50 years building a business with long-time customers and long-time friendships. 

As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, she dedicated herself to her God on February 4, 1960. Brenda faithfully ministered to her neighbors and those in the congregation. Her home was always open, whether it was for an anniversary dinner, a congregation lunch, or just a listening ear.

Brenda loved people, poodles, Diet Pepsi and hearts, but one of her greatest loves was being “Mimi” to her grandsons Reagan and Reese. She was also lovingly referred to by many figuratively adopted grandkids as ‘Mimi Brenda’. 

Brenda is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Ray Davis; her daughter, Rachelle (Paul) Williams; grandsons, Reagan (Katherine) Williams and Reese (Cassidy) Williams; her sister, Geraldine Allen; and her brother, Dennis (Jaqueline) Alston. They, along with her extended family and a multitude of friends, will miss her tremendously.

Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 14469 Old Highway 49, Gulfport, MS. A memorial talk will follow at 2:00 pm. For those attending on Zoom please use the following:
