Bonnie Jane Mallett, known to those who knew and loved her as ‘Jane’ age 80, passed away on March 14, 2025, peacefully at her home in Saucier, MS.
Jane a native of Vancleave, MS., and longtime resident of Harrison County, was a graduate of Vancleave High School, and a loving sister to her siblings before going to work as a telephone operator, a house-made, a nursery, a housewife and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She took pride in every endeavor she participated in especially in caring for her own home and yard. It was always immaculate. She put that same love and pride into her favorite hobbies which include flower gardening, home and garden, sewing and knitting, interior design, reading her Bible, attending church, writing prayer books (numerous notebooks which she left behind for her family), watching her New Orleans Saints, but most of all Jane found joy in giving of herself to care for others in her life, including her parents, siblings, kids and grandkids.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Will O’neal and Sabra O’neal of Jackson County; her siblings, Wade O’neal, Willene Sigmon and Dennis O’neal, all of Jackson County, and Barney O’neal of Harrison County; brother-in-law, Wallace Tiblier of Jackson County.
Left behind to cherish the dear memories of her are her loving husband of 39 years, Russell Mallett of Harrison County; her sons and their spouses, Jimmy Stockton (Pam) of California, Billy Stockton (Kim) of Harrison County, Terry Stockton of Harrison County, and Jonathan Stockton of Harrison County; siblings and their spouses, Peggy Tiblier, Toby O’Neal (Bonnie) of Virginia, Bill O’neal (Susan) of Jackson County; grandchildren, Brookelle Garg of California, Daisha Pratt of Harrison County, Clint Stockton of Harrison County; and great granddaughter, Emmy of Harrison County, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends.
While she may have been frugal to herself, she constantly gave to her church tithed, she volunteered working in the nursery at church and gave more to her family and friends than she ever gave herself. She always put God and her family first. She was generous and joyful, never drank or gambled and was loyal to God. She was humble, kind and loving and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A visitation for friends will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd., in West Jackson County. Interment will immediately process to the Bonnie Chapel Cemetery in Vancleave, MS.
