Bonnie Ladner Holliman, age 79, of Gulfport, passed away on October 20, 2023.
Bonnie was a native of DeLisle, Mississippi, and a resident of Gulfport. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She served her community as a registered nurse, working 24 years in Oncology, and then later in Hospice care for 5 years.
She loved thrift shopping with her friend, Mary, and her sister-in-law, Pat. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her family, and cooking.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her infant son, Ellis Paul Holliman; husband, Donald R. Holliman, Sr.; parents, Lovic M. Ladner, and Clara Lizana Ladner; and her siblings, Jay Ladner, Celester Ladner, Leland Ladner, and Marlene Necaise.
She is survived by her sons, Donald Ray Holliman, Jr. (LaDora), Rodney Lovic Holliman (Mariela), and Ryan Duncan Holliman (Chris); her sister, Carol Sandidge (Jim); grandchildren, Michael Holliman (Autumn), Jacob Holliman (Hayley), Joseph Holliman (Alicia), Josh Holliman (Shannon), Daniel Holliman (Felicia), Adrienne Dedon (Brant), Riley Ladner, Kaleb Holliman; great-grandchildren, Jayden, Aidan, Payton, James, Jeremiah, Jase, Jayme, Julia, Joel, Amelia, and Owen; and many nieces and nephews.
Bonnie was the greatest wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and nurse. She was kind, compassionate, and strong. She never met a stranger. Throughout her nursing career, she treated everyone with the highest level of care and compassion. Being a nurse was her calling. She followed her patients throughout their illness, becoming very attached and loving them like her own family. To say she will be missed is an understatement.
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 26, 2023, from 9 - 11 am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 2414 17th Street, Gulfport, MS 39501. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am in the church. Interment will be in Evergreen Gardens Cemetery.
