Bob E. Cherry

Bob E. Cherry, age 90, of Biloxi, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022.

Bob was a native of Selma, AL, and a longtime resident of Biloxi.  He received a BA and Master’s degree in Education Administration from the University of Alabama. He was an elementary school teacher, and retired as administrative assistant to the superintendent of the Biloxi Public School system.  Bob loved gardening, fishing, and watching the Alabama Crimson Tide football games.  He was a longtime little league baseball and basketball coach in Biloxi.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Biloxi where he taught Sunday School for several years and served on various committees.

Mr. Cherry was preceded in death by his father, Walter Eugene Cherry; his mother, Lillian Hall Cherry; his brother, Lt. Col Bill Cherry; and his in-laws, Madie and Victor Poole.

Bob is survived by his wife of 58 years Ernestine Howell Cherry; his in-laws, Marie and Mark Scott, Price and Patsy Howell, and Shirley Cherry; and by his nieces, nephews and other loving family and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the First Baptist Church, Biloxi (new Roof Acct.) or Parkway Baptist Church, Biloxi.

Friends are invited to join the Cherry family for visitation and services on Friday, May 6, 2022, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., with the Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m.  The Service will be Livestreamed at 2:00 p.m., The link under the service information below.  If the livestream is buffering, the recording of the service will be uploaded following the service.
