Bobby R. McClendon, Sr., age 58 and a resident of Lizana, died on Friday, February 20, 2009, in Lizana.
Mr. McClendon was a native of Poplarville, and had been a resident of Lizana for the past 23 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lizana and loved woodworking. Bobby was a devoted husband and a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Mr. McClendon is preceded in death by his parents, Claude & Ira Cameron McClendon and a sister, Geneva Lee.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Linda McClendon of Lizana; his sons, Sheldon (Garika) McClendon of Okinawa, Japan, Joshua (Katie) McClendon of Pass Christian, and Bobby (Amanda) McClendon, Jr. of Lizana; his brothers, Rudy McClendon, Claude McClendon, and Don McClendon; his sisters, Betty Kellar, Shirlene Hoffman, Gail Grotewold, Gloria Johnson, Jodie Ballenger, and Lisa Porter and 7 grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, February 23, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Lizana, where friends may visit two hours prior to the service. Burial will follow at Wolf River Cemetery.
