Bobby Lewis

Bobby Lewis, 65, of Illinois passed away on August 8, 2023.  He was born on September 1, 1958 to J.D. & Nellie Lewis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother Billy Lewis; brother, E.D. Lewis, and sister, Maxine Daily.

Bobby was a very interesting and profound individual. He could fix and repair just about anything, and make things from nothing.  Bobby was always doing something and going somewhere. In his younger years he was involved in Kick Boxing and received many accolades. Music was his life from listening to playing music to making homemade flutes. Bobby was a very talented artist and his works were amazing. Bobby accepted Christ was involved in Street Ministry and was one thing that he was most proud of.  His Spirit lives on in all those around him and knew him, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. His one saying was “One Love” and we hope that it lives in all of us.

Dad was the guiding light in my life, and today especially I’m reminded how lucky I was to have you for as long as I did. I love you to the moon and back.  How lucky am I to have had a father so special that I miss you this much: As much as I’m hate not having you around, I’m happy to know you’re at peace.

Bobby is survived by his son, Bobby “Pee-Wee” Lewis; daughter, Angel Lewis; grandchildren, Karneisha, Brianna, Shamia, Anastatia, Bobby III, Bianca, Marques, Bryce, Wiley, Kevon, Beyonica, Devon, and Biana; his companion for 26 years, Kim; and brother, Ozell Lewis.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
