Billy Joe Stephens

Billy Joe Stephens, age 87, of Gulfport, passed away Friday, August 4, 2023.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Stephens; parents, Orville and Coy D. Stephens; brother, Ray Stephens; and sister, Patsy Gordon.

Billy is survived by his son, Richard Stephens; grandchildren, Jaime Stephens and Dr. James Stephens (Candace); and his great grandchildren, Madisen Smith, Connor Stephens, Morgan Smith, Jordan Smith, Grady Stephens, Graham Stephens, Grayson Stephens, and Griffin Stephens.

Billy was a native of East Prairie, Missouri. He graduated Coolidge High School in Coolidge, Arizona. Billy served in the U.S. Navy, 1955-1959 and the U.S. Navy Reserves, 1959-1963. He was a boat mechanic and shrimper. Billy enjoyed fishing, music, and classic cars.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. A funeral service will be after visitation at 1:00 PM. Interment is at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens.
