Billy F. Reed, age 79, of Long Beach, died Thursday, March 5, 2009 at home.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in the Korean War. He was pastor of Central Baptist Church, Baton Rouge, LA, and owner and administrator of Miramar Nursing Home, Pass Christian for 22 years. He founded four Bill's Quick Lube facilities and was an avid private pilot. He was a faithful student and teacher of God's Word.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years Verda Reed; children, Doris Lambert (Jim) of Lawton, OK, Glen Reed (Nancy) and David Reed (Debbie); 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, March 8, 2009 at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, Commission Road, Long Beach. The funeral service be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 9, 2009 in the funeral home chapel, followed by interment at Biloxi National Cemetery with military honors.
