Billy Kesel, born October 30, 1941, in Galveston, TX. gained his wings on July 8, 2021.
He served his country as a member of the 101st Airborne. He was immensely proud of his family and loved making people laugh almost as much as he loved telling stories. From the days of his youth to his adventures in the Army to his "union welder" days, shrimp boat captain, and casino craps dealer, his stories are infamous and his telling them captivated those in his presence. His friends were his family, old and new. Although, by definition, Jackie, Carroll, and Joe were his brothers-in-law, they were his brothers at heart. His entire family, including his Bolivar friends, will miss him dearly. Heaven will never be the same.
A beloved son, husband, brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Susan, children Kristi Kesel Britt (Michael Britt), James Kesel (Tiffany Kesel), grandchildren Jordin Gonzales (Art Gonzales), Megan Kesel, Kimberly Britt, Reagan Britt, Meredith Britt, Sami Soljan, great grandchildren, Gavin Gresh, Elijah Gonzales, sisters-in-law Hedy Andres, Jimmie Ann White, Cindy Blume and Johnette Bouse and his brothers-in-law, otherwise known as his partners in crime, Joe Andres, Carroll White and Jackie Blume, William Criss and family, Deborah Criss and family, Bernetta Koehler and family, Jeannette Soler and family, Marti Tucker and family, Custer Kesel, Jr. (Donna Kesel), John and Stacy Proctor and family, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and life-long friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Bolivar. The date will be announced at a later time.
