Billy C James, Jr.

Billy C James, Jr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother passed away peacefully on May 28, 2023. He was 80 years old.

Born in Pascagoula on February 25, 1943, Billy was the son of Billie C James Sr. and James Margaret Burnham James.

Billy began a career with State Farm Insurance as a claims adjuster where he worked for over three decades.

Billy is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty C. James; his children, Jimmy D. James (Jennifer) of Long Beach, Traci Murray (Glen) of Bay St. Louis, and Michael James of Seattle, WA; his grandchildren, Flynn James, Rebecca M. Copeland (Tim), and Elisabeth Murray; his great grandchildren, Amelia Copeland and Timothy Copeland; and his brother, Bryce James.

Outside of his job, Billy enjoyed many hobbies and interests that kept him busy and entertained. He loved camping, fishing, baseball, hockey and football. He was particularly fond of Ole Miss and the Manning family. Billy was a member of Bayou View Baptist Church, in Gulfport.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Deb, KK, Asia, Josh, and Jackie with Deaconess Hospice for their special care.

Although we will miss Billy dearly, just remember him as the fun loving, happy and good  man that he was. What a legacy to leave behind: three wonderful children and their spouses, three unbelievable grandchildren and two rip-snortin' great grands. And don't forget Mogie and Cecil. We're going to miss him. A gathering party will be held from 12:00-2:00pm, on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport.
