Mrs. Billie Fay Lyons, age 72 and a resident of Diamondhead, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2009.
Mrs. Lyons was born to William """"Bud"""" and Izella Glass in Kiln, MS on May 8, 1936. She was a graduate of Kiln Consolidated High School. She was the first female elected to the Hancock County School Board. She was the owner of Lyons Insurance Agency, a lifelong member of Annunciation Catholic Church in Kiln, and a member of her beloved Bonco group for over thirty years.
Mrs. Lyons was preceded in death by her mother and father, her brothers, Norman Glass and Lancelot Glass, her niece, Debbie Glass, and her nephew, Greg Curet.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Lyons, of Diamondhead; her sister, Lynn Nell Curet, of Kiln; her daughters, Karen Pyle of Gulfport, Kelly Schwartz of Bay St. Louis, and Sheri Rawls of Hattiesburg; her sons, Shannon Lyons of Kiln and Robert Lyons of Ocean Springs; her son-in-laws, Sonny Schwartz and Robert Pyle; her daughter-in-law, Leslie Lyons; her grandchildren, Lanny and Aaron Schwartz of Bay St. Louis, Jessica Schwartz Baker and her husband, Cliff, of Hattiesburg, Trey Pyle and his wife, Kesley, of Atlanta, GA, Jonathon and Emily Rawls of Hattiesburg, Summer and Sunni Carrington of Kiln, Dylan, Sarah, and Savannah Lyons of Kiln, Joshua, Jacob, and James Lyons of Ocean Springs; and her great-grandchildren, Dustin Schwartz, Gina Brooke Baker, Kendall Schwartz, and Kaden Carrington.
The visitation will be held on Friday, February 27, 2009, from 12:00 Noon until 4:00 PM at Annunciation School on Kiln Delisle Rd. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 4:00 PM with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will follow at a later date.
The RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Kiln Delisle Rd, Pass Christian, is in charge of arrangements.
