Billy Ray "Bill" Taylor, 61 of Gulfport, Mississippi passed away on July 7, 2019.
Bill
was a native of
Virginia Beach, Virginia
and a longtime resident of
Gulfport.
He graduated from Bayside High School in Virginia Beach.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Charlene Taylor and his son, Steven Michael Stack.
He is survived by his parents, Jimmy and Sylvia Taylor of Hertford, North Carolina; his sister, Jennie Carey (John), and his brother, William Taylor. He is also survived by his wife, Gayle Schroeder Taylor; his daughter-in-law, Amy Stack; his sons, Billy (Michelle), Russell (Tiffany), and Preston (Ellen); his daughters, Mary Grace and Sylvia Taylor; his grandchildren Kelsey Barr (Bennett), Gabriel Stack, Emaleigh Smith (Dustin), Juliet Stack, Hayden, Payton, Wright, Lillian Grace, Ella Bailey, Hunter, Denton, Wells, and Hardy Taylor; and great granddaughters, Elleigh and Charleigh Smith.
Bill founded Taylor and Taylor Construction in 1985. He served his community as a reserve police officer for the City of Gulfport in the 1990s, coached many sports teams throughout his children's youth, and has been an active member of St. James Catholic Church for nearly forty years. He enjoyed working in the yard, cooking, and spending time with his family.
The family will celebrate his life by attending mass at St. James Catholic Church followed by a family gathering.
