Beverly S Yarber

Beverly Sue Brokering Yarber, age 82, passed away on February 19, 2024, in Huntsville, AL.

Beverly was born November 2, 1941 in Shelbyville, IN to Harry and May Platt Brokering.

She met and married the love of her life, Richard Wayne Yarber, on September 26, 1964. Together they raised two children, Tammy and Todd, who were their pride and joy. Military life took them to several places around the world until they were stationed in Biloxi, MS in 1972 and made it their forever home. Beverly worked as a beautician; she enjoyed fixing hair.

Aside from her children, her other pride and joy were her five grandchildren—Tara, Jonathan, Jeremy, Megan, and Jessica. She leaves them with cherished memories of motor home trips, playing Yahtzee, playing cards, and Christmas Eve festivities.  

Beverly enjoyed crocheting in her free time. She crocheted clothes for baby dolls and would send them to children in a third-world country.  

Beverly was a devout Christian. She was a member of Beauvoir United Methodist Church where she loved to pick flowers to put on the cross at Easter.  

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Richard Yarber; and her parents.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammy (Bob) White; her son, Todd (Melissa) Yarber; five grandchildren, Tara (George) Gargarita, Jonathan (Sarah) Yarber, Jeremy (Ashley) Yarber, Megan (Kyle) Furey, and Jessica Yarber; six great-grandchildren; and her sister, Carrol.   

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Association 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.

A funeral service honoring her life will be held at 12:30 pm, Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi. Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until time of services. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery, 400 Veterans Ave. Biloxi, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
