Beuron “Wendell” Cannon, 69 of the Gulf Coast area passed away on September 9, 2024 at the Slidell Memorial Hospital. He was born on November 19, 1954 in Batesville, MS to Beuron Alton Cannon and Jessie Louise Radcliff. Wendell is preceded in death by his father.
Wendell grew up in the Gulf Coast area. He joined the United States Marine Corps after high school and this is where he went on a World Tour. Wendell was stationed in Thailand and served time at Camp Lejune. After, his role with the United States Marine Corps, Wendell settled back here on the Gulf Coast. He started working at Lockheed Martin building the Fuel Tanks on the Space Shuttle.
Wendell loved being in the outdoors, from riding his Harley Motorcycle, fishing, and going golfing. He also had a love for music. Being from the Marine Corps, Wendell was one tough guy, but had a heart of gold. He was a very intellectual individual who could read and solve any problems. Wendell had a free spirit and his spirit lives on in all of us. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Wendell is survived by his wife, Carla Cannon; children, Joshua (Andrea) Carnley, Julianne Carnley, Terry Carnley; mother, Jessie Louise Whitfield; grandchildren, Abby Carnley, Christian Carnley, Tommy Bingham, Michael Bingham, and Marianna Bingham; siblings, Steve Cannon, Sherri (Gus) Schreiber, Bobby Cannon, Lisa (Tom) Harper, Janet Ward, Robby (Betty) Ward, and Mike (Amanda) Ward. Wendell also leaves behind to cherish his memory a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.
Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at the Biloxi National Cemetery (400 Veterans Blvd, Biloxi).
