Betty Lou Thompson, a native of Michigan and longtime resident of D'Iberville and Biloxi, MS, passed away on April 20, 2020, in Biloxi, at the age of 88 years old.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mabel and Arnold Potter; two husbands, Donald W. Martin and Arthur R. Thompson; her sister, Marvel Lutton; brothers, Sonny Potter and Everett Potter; and her daughter-in-law, Betti Martin.

Betty Lou is survived by her children, her son, David J. Martin, of D’Iberville/Gulfport community; and her daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen C. Angus and Kenneth D. Angus of the D’Iberville/Biloxi community; grandchildren, Ezra W. Bennett and his wife Misty, of St. Martin, Jonathan B. Sumrall and his wife Jeanne, native of D’Iberville and resident of Kansas, and Jessica J. Dunn of Waveland; her great-grandchildren, Amanda Bennett, Zachary Bennett, Ethan Bennett, Landon Sumrall, James Sumrall, Shyann Dunn, Shelby Dunn and Sofia Dunn; other relatives include her grand nephews, Timothy and Todd Lutton; and two grand nieces, Linda and Lou Ann Potter; numerous friends and relatives.

Betty Lou graduated from High School, and so wanted to go to college and become a doctor, but wasn’t able to achieve her dreams due to the family financial situation, so she went on to work, marry and have a family.

Betty Lou was the Owner and Operator of the pet grooming business in D’Iberville formerly known as the Pink Poodle. She owned and operated several Businesses, co owning them with her daughter Kathleen in several.

She loved going to yard sales and thrift stores. Betty Lou loved plants of all kinds, and always wanted to share them with others. She was an excellent cake decorator and loved baking and decorating them for several weddings for family and friends through the years. Betty Lou was a woman with faith in God, and she attended a local Assembly of God Church. She will be deeply missed.
