Betty Jean Taylor, age 73, resident of Saucier, passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2010.
Mrs. Taylor was born in Alabama to Mr. Claud and Mrs. Dollie Horton Miller. She moved to the Gulf Coast 46 years ago. Her involvement in the community included volunteering for the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 2539, where she was a life member and Bingo volunteer for over 25 years. She also volunteered for the DAV Chapter 5 Ladies Auxiliary and the Biloxi VA. Her dedication to the community earned her the award for the MS Oustanding Community Service Volunteer for 2007-2008.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Fay Taylor; her parents; and her infant daughter, Shelby Jean Taylor.
She is survived by her children, Linda Hutchinson (Herman, Deceased) of Lizana, Dennis Taylor (June) of Taneytown, MD, Danny Taylor (Wendy) of Biloxi, Randy Taylor of Saucier; her sister, Nell Kittle of Boaz, AL; her 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2010, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, at 2 p.m. Friends may visit one hour prior to service.
Burial will follow at Finley Cemetery.
