Betty Mae Pecoul Taylor, age 78, of Gulfport, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2011, in Gulfport.
Betty Mae was born in Mississippi City and remained a lifelong resident of Gulfport. She was retired from Hancock Bank and was a member of St. James Catholic Church where she was an active member of the Altar Society. Betty Mae enjoyed watching football, gardening, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ferdinand A. and Eldora Pecoul, a sister, Lucy Dessommes, and a brother, Monroe Cliburn.
Survivors include her 2 children, Teresa A. Taylor and Hollis (Cynthia) Taylor IV, 2 sisters, Martha (Raymond) Sinopoli and Catherine (Wayne) Davis, 2 brothers, Ferdinand A. (Linda) Pecoul, Jr., and Louis ""JoJo"" (Dot) Pecoul, 4 grandchildren, Ian Taylor, Hallee Killeen, Sabrina Jarrett, and Jamie Cuevas, 1 great-granddaughter, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at St. James Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 10 - 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. James Catholic Church Building Fund, 366 Cowan Road, Gulfport, MS 39507.
